Israel and American Jewish groups have contributed more than $100,000 as part of a U.N. relief effort for starving Africans. The Israeli government said in a statement this week that $118,000 collected in the Jewish state and the Diaspora will be distributed by the World Food Program to drought-struck Mauritania, Malawi and Kenya.
