Israel and Mauritania plan to establish full diplomatic ties Thursday. Located in northwest Africa, Mauritania is an Islamic country and a member of the Arab League. Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy, who plans to be in Washington for the signing ceremony, is also expected to update U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on the peace process.
