Negotiations with representatives of the Soviet Union, about claims by Moscow regarding various church properties owned by the Czarist Government in Jerusalem, will be renewed next week after a three-month recess of the talks, the Foreign Ministry here announced today.
The talks concern some highly valuable property in the center of this city, including the sites of police headquarters, the Government Information Office and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Prior to the recess of the negotiations in August, Israel is understood to have made some specific proposals regarding the property. The proposals dealt with identification of the property, determination of its present ownership, and the relationship of the property to Israel’s present needs and, particularly, to this city’s development.
