Israel announced today that a magistrate’s court will be opened shortly in Kuneitra, the main town in the occupied Golan Heights. The opening of the court will, in effect, substitute Israeli law in the area for Syrian law which remained in force after the Six-Day War. The court will deal with all legal procedures except for the functions of the military tribunal. The opening session of the court will be attended by members of the Cabinet and the legal branches of the Government.
