Rabbis in the United States and Canada are being asked urgently to send Torabs as well as phylacteries, to Israel, where these sacred objects are needed by immigrants recently arrived in Israel.
Letters seeking these contributions were received this week-end by rabbis and other Jewish leaders here from Rabbi Yaakov M. Toledano, Israel’s Minister for Religious Affairs. The Scrolls and phylacteries, according to Rabbi Toledano’s letter may be sent through the Jewish Agency offices in New York.
