The Israel Army yesterday began its summer maneuvers to test newly-acquired material and newly-learned techniques, Gen Yigal Yadin, Army Chief of Staff, announced here last night.
The acquisition of new equipment by all services and the completion of training courses has put the troops in a good position to repel possible attacks by the Arabs who, the General pointed out, have been purchasing new arms without a halt. He reiterated his warning that if the Arabs re-open hostilities the battle will be carried into their territory.
