Israel assassinated a Hamas master bombmaker in the Gaza Strip. Adnan Al-Rul, who was on Israel’s wanted list for 20 years and led efforts to upgrade the Hamas-made Kassam rockets, was killed in an air strike on his car Oct. 21. Hamas responded last Friday with a salvo of mortar bombs against the Gush Katif settlement bloc, injuring at least six Israelis.
