Attorney General Haim Cohen asked Parliament today to waive the immunity of one of its members, Deputy Minister of Welfare Shlomo Rosenberg, so that the government could bring him to trial on a charge of illegal financial transactions.

The charge specifies that Mr. Rosenberg, a Mizrachi leader, illegally transferred money from Switzerland to the account of a Mizrachi children’s institution in Israel. A Knesset Committee will consider the matter next week.
