An Israel bond delegation composed of 29 American and Canadian businessmen and communal leaders, headed by Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, executive vice president of the bond organization, arrived here last night.
The group, which came to Israel on the invitation of Finance Minister Levi Eshkol, will study the Israeli economic scene, spending most of its time on the projects in Israel requiring the cooperation of the bond organization. The American and Canadian leaders will also participate in Israel’s celebration of its ninth Independence Day.
In a short statement upon the arrival of the group, Dr. Schwartz pledged the organization’s fullest moral and material support for Israel’s struggle to preserve its freedom and independence and at the same time absorb the new wave of immigrants.
