Steps to enable Israel to speed her economic expansion program, in order to cope with heavily increased immigration this year, will be the major concern of a Washington planning conference which will be held under the auspices of the Israel Bond Organization beginning September 21.
In announcing the conference, Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, vice-president of the organization, declared that the three-day parley in Washington will usher in the Fall campaign in the 1962 effort to sell a total of $66,500,000 in Israel bonds. He also said that the conference sessions would be addressed by high Israel Government officials involved in Israel’s economic planning and development program. The conference will be attended by members of the board of governors of the Israel Bond Organization and local campaign chairmen from various parts of the country.
