The role of American support in the economic development of the State of Israel will be considered at a two-day National Leadership Conference which will open at the Shoreham Hotel here on Saturday evening, under the auspices of the State of Israel Bond Organization. More than 300 key leaders from the United States and Canada will attend the conference, which will review the results of the 1957 Israel bond drive, and develop plans and set a quota for the 1958 campaign.
Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, vice president of the Israel Bond Organization, announced that more than $300,000,000 had been made available for the expansion of agriculture and industry in Israel since 1951 as a result of the sale of State of Israel bonds in the United States and other parts of the free world.
