The Israel Cabinet today discussed the problem of establishing coordination between the United Jewish Appeal and the Israel Bond drive in the United States. A brief communique issued after the meeting indicates that a line of coordination has been decided upon but does not give any details. The communique mentions that Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett, during his recent visit to the United States, attempted to settle the problem.
The communique reveals that at today’s Cabinet meeting the question of Israel’s security was also discussed. The discussion took place in connection with the murder last week of five Israeli watchmen in the Negev. The Cabinet also reviewed the information submitted with regard to the security situation on other borders of the country.
