The Cabinet today instructed the Israeli delegation to the economic talks with the West German Government to continue their negotiations in Bonn on the basis of the proposals made by West Germany last week.
The details of the proposals remained undisclosed. Powever, it was indicated in informed circles here today that the Israel Government considers the Bonn offer not bad enough to reject and not good enough to accept. Several members of the Cabinet expressed disappointment at the German offer which is seen here as a bare minimum making the continuation of negotiations possible.
Both West German diplomats here and Israeli officials hope the talks will be concluded tomorrow before the arrival here of former Chancellor Konrad Adenauer who will make an eight-day visit. The invitation was extended by then Premier David Ben-Gurion and taken up by the Eshkol Government. The Weizmann Institute will confer an honorary fellowship on Dr. Adenauer during his stay.
