Israel Cabinet Meeting Considers Action to Break Black Market; Hears Report on Army

Measures to combat the black market in Israel were discussed at today’s weekly Cabinet meeting, it was announced by a government spokesman. He declared that the “public will soon feel the effects of the measures adopted” by the Ministers.

The Cabinet heard a report on the structure of the army and the developing security situation. The Cabinet will shortly submit a defense budget to Parliament. The government, which is already spending some 30,000,000 pounds ($84,000,000) annually on a social security program, will soon receive a plan for a thoroughgoing insurance and security program.
