The Israel Cabinet met in an urgent session last night following a stormy debate in Parliament over the arrest of more than a score of religious underground activists who planned to bomb the Parliament.

During the debate all parties, except the Mapai and the Progressives, called for repeal of the emergency defense regulations under which the underground movement–Brit Kanaim–was smashed and some of its members held incommunicado in a detention camp. The Cabinet appointed a subcommittee to study the police reports on the matter and submit its findings to the full body.
