Israel has contributed $337,000 in “matching funds” for activities carried on its country by the United Nations Children’s Fund, against a total of $99,000 expended for welfare purposes by UNICEF.
This was reported here today by Mrs. Zena Harman, who arrived here from Israel to attend the annual meeting of the UNICEF executive board. Mrs. Harman is chairman of UNICEF’s program committee, which draws up the plans for the organization’s work around the world. She made her announcement about UNICEF’s work in Israel in the course of an interview for the Israel radio by Saul Carson. JTA correspondent at the UN.
