Israel could accelerate the evacuation of illegal settlement outposts in the West Bank when Ariel Sharon visits Washington. Jerusalem sources said on Sunday that action against the outposts would bolster the Israeli prime minister’s standing as he asks President Bush to back his plan for Israeli disengagement from the Palestinians. Sharon is to visit the White House on Wednesday.
