More than 100 educators and leaders of American Jewish cultural life attended a reception here yesterday in honor of three outstanding Hebrew writers from Israel, held at the offices of the Jewish Agency. The reception was tendered by the Jewish Agency’s Department of Education and Culture and the Brith Ivrith Olamith (World Hebrew Culture Federation).
The three writers, comprising a cultural delegation from Israel to the United States, are Reuven Avinoam-Grossman, poet, author and translator, Dr. Baruch Ben-Yehuda, former director of Israel’s Ministry of Education and presently head of the Herzlia College in Tel Aviv, and Dr. Simon Halkin, chairman of the Department of Hebrew Literature at the Hebrew University and presently a visiting professor at the University of California.
