Israel decided to establish a committee that will examine campaign funding. The decision was made in the wake of a report that found widespread campaign financing violations by several political parties. Justice Minister Yossi Beilin asked Prime Minister Ehud Barak to create the committee, saying many of the findings of the report stemmed from the fact that the campaign financing law is unclear.
