Israel decided to keep open 15 overseas diplomatic offices that had been slated to be closed for budgetary considerations. Consulates in Philadelphia and Montreal were among the offices originally slated for closure. Israel’s Finance Ministry had pushed for the closures, a move that was expected to save some $4 million.
