Israel denied a Palestinian claim that it had frozen contacts on a gradual cease-fire until after a possible U.S.-led war on Iraq. Palestinian Authority official Hani Hassan said Monday that his contacts with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s bureau chief, Dov Weisglass, were frozen because of differences of opinion among Israeli political and military officials, Israel Radio reported.
