Israel denied a report that it has not finalized a deal with the Palestinian Authority on what to do with evacuated Gaza Strip settlements. The New York Times on Wednesday quoted an Israeli official as saying that the government has yet to decide whether to demolish houses it evacuates during the upcoming Gaza withdrawal and what should happen to the rubble — despite an announcement by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that a deal on the issue had been secured.
