Israel emphatically denied an Arab charge today that it has leased two islets in the Red Sea from Ethiopia for conversion into air and naval bases. A Foreign Ministry spokesman said the allegation by the Palestine Liberation Front was “a completely contrived propaganda fabrication which has no foundation whatsoever.” The spokesman said it was “significant that the story emanates from the Syrian propaganda machine which in this case is fed by the so-called Eritrean Liberation Front and timed to coincide with the visit of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia to Egypt.”
