The Ministry of Immigration today formally denied a report published abroad that all Jews who entered Israel, except those who have not completed military service, are free to leave the country if they wish. It also denied that a special office has been opened by the Ministry to deal with applications of Jews wishing to leave Israel.
The government policy concerning emigration is definitely not modified, a spokesman for the Ministry said. However, he revealed that the authorities are now considering the idea of more liberal treatment of applications of citizens wishing to travel abroad.
