Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, left here by plane today for Israel after paying a courtesy call on French Foreign Minister Christian Pineau. She described her African journey to her French counterpart.
Earlier, at a press conference, Mrs. Meir reiterated Israel’s determination to assist the new African states in their economic development and said Israeli experts would soon be at work on such projects. She expressed great admiration for the peoples she had visited this month and urged all the nations of the world to assist them with their developmental problems.
Ambassador Yaacov Tsur, who accompanied Mrs. Meir on her African tour, told newsmen that a number of African Ministers in the French territories had been invited to visit Israel. He described the popularity of Mrs. Meir with the people of French West Africa, the largest portion of whom are Moslems.
