Maurice Fisher, Israel Minister to Turkey, conferred with Turkish Foreign Minister Fuat Koprulu and expressed surprise that in the Foreign Minister’s recent statement to Parliament reviewing Turkey’s relations with various nations he had not mentioned Israel, although he had stressed Turkish relations with Iraq.
The Israeli Minister expressed his government’s concern over the possibility of the inclusion of Iraq in the recently concluded Turkish-Pakistan military pact. Mr. Fisher expressed the hope that Israel-Turkish relations. Which are very friendly, will increase and expand.
Commenting later on the conversation, Mr. Koprulu said the exchange of views had taken place in an atmosphere of “understanding and friendship which characterizes relations between the two countries.”
