The Polish Government’s refusal to grant exit permits to Jews wishing to migrate from Poland to Israel was the subject of a lengthy discussion this week between Israel Minister Arieh Kubovy and Polish Foreign Minister Stanislaw Szereszewski, it was reported here today.
Five thousand Jews who applied last year for permission to leave Poland are still awaiting official action on their applications. Issuance of passports has been rendered still more difficult by the transfer of this function from the Foreign Ministry to the state security police.
