The Cabinet yesterday heard a report by Avraham Harman, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, on Israel-U. S. relations, It is assumed that developments since Premier Eshkol’s visit and the forthcoming U. S, elections were discussed. Yoset Tekoa, Israel’s Ambassador to the Soviet Union, reported to the Cabinet on Israel’s relations with that country.
The Cabinet also discussed the problem of the religious status of the Bnei Israel community of Indian Jews who have been on a sit-down strike against the Chief Rabbinate charging the latter with discrimination against them. The discussion will continue at the next meeting of the Cabinet.
