Increased production of Israel’s mines and chemical industries will save Israel many millions of dollars in foreign currency and will earn it millions more through the export of surpluses, Dov Joseph, Development Minister, reported in Parliament today.
Speaking during a debate on the budget for his department. Dr. Joseph said that Haifa’s chemical and fertilizer production will save $3,000,000 and earn another $1,600,000 during 1955 and 1956 by producing super-phosphates, sulphuric acid and there products. The Dead Sea chemical installations, copper mines and ceramic products will save and earn more dollars, he added.
