The West German-Israel Reparations Commission, which formally held its first meeting here today, is expected to fix the total value of West German reparations payments to Israel in the fiscal year beginning April 1 at the equivalent of $74,000,000.
The commission meeting was preceded by three months of preliminary negotiations by a mixed group of technical experts, who prepared for the final drafting of goods schedules to be laid down by the commission. The commission deliberations are expected to last for a number of weeks.
