Israel expects to receive within the next few days $16,000,000 of a $20,000,000 American grant-in-aid for the year ending June 30, it was reported reliably today.
It was also reported that four to five million dollars worth of surplus agricultural products also were expected before the end of the year. Both grants in aid and agricultural surplus supplies to Israel were suspended when the Sinai campaign was hunched.
James P. Richards, the special ambassador for the Eisenhower Doctrine, will arrive in Israel May 5, it was officially announced.
