Israeli exports to the United States in 1956 are expected to aggregate $18,500,000 as against $16,600,000 in 1955 and $13,400,000 in 1954. That was announced here today by Eitan Ezrahi, director of the government’s foreign trade department.
Mr. Ezrahi listed Israel’s chief exports this year to the U.S.A. as having been made up largely of diamonds, raincoats, cement, chocolate, fine arts and souvenirs, and steel pipe. At the same time, Frank P. Butler, counsellor to the American Embassy, declared that about 100 Israeli firms have signed up to exhibit their goods at the World Trade Fair to be held in New York next April.
