Deputy Defense Minister Shimon Peres reported here today that Israel’s military industry exports 50 per cent of its output, mainly Uzzi submachine guns. Addressing a foreign press luncheon, Mr. Peres said that thus far, 250,000 Uzzis have been sold to foreign countries. He noted that Israeli military missions were now functioning in 14 African countries, mainly in helping to establish youth battalions and Wehal units.
