Solel Boneh, Histadrut’s construction firm, has started recruiting additional engineers and architects for millions of dollars in new construction in a number of African and Asian countries, it was revealed here today.
Among the public works jobs to be undertaken shortly by Solel Boneh is a complex of roads, an airport and public buildings to go up in Ghana. This contract calls for an expenditure of $8,400,000. Negotiations continue in Nigeria, Burma and Iran for large projects and work is expected to resume on Turkish contracts.
Meanwhile, it was announced here today that a number of Cabinet members from African and Asian nations will participate in an international adult education seminary to be held in Tel Aviv December 4 under the auspices of the Hebrew University and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Among the education experts from 20 countries who will attend are Ceylon’s Minister of Education, the Ivory Coast’s Foreign Minister and several other Deputy Ministers.
