Israel Foreign Minister Confers with Hammarskjold on Middle East

Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel Foreign Minister, accompanied by Joseph Tekoah, deputy permanent representative of Israel at the United Nations, met for an hour yesterday with Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold. prior to his departure abroad. They reportedly engaged in a general survey of the current Middle East situation.

Dr. Hugh L. Kecnleyside, United Nations Under Secretary in charge of the newly-established Office for Public Administration. left New York for a Middle East and African tour which will include a visit to Israel.

Dr. Keenleyside is scheduled to arrive in Israel on March 12, for a stay of about a week to participate in meetings of the technological advisory board, an agency of the Israel Government composed of heads of various governmental departments and UN technical experts. The function of the board is to review projects planned or undertaken in the industrial and technological fields. Dr. Keenleyside is taking part in the March session at the request of the Israel Government.
