Israel’s oil requirements have been covered by credits obtained from private sources following the failure of the British Government to extend a five million pound credit to Israel to finance its oil purchases, David Horowitz, Director-General of the Israel Finance Ministry, disclosed on his return from London today.
Mr. Horowitz, who declined to state for just how long these private credits assured Israel’s oil supply, said that there had been no discussion with the British authorities on new credit talks.
