A Foreign Ministry spokesman formally denied tonight a report in the American press today to the effect that the Israel Government has resumed peace talks with Transjordan.
The report stated that a high official of the Israel Government had met in Amman, capital of Transjordan, with King Abdullah, but that the talks had proven unproductive. It added, on the basis of “authoritative sources” that the longstanding stalemate “still obtains” and that substantial progress will not be made without the help of Egypt.
