An agreement to transfer 2,000,000 dunams of abandoned land to the Jewish National Fund was signed today between the Israel Government and the JNF. The bulk of the land is agricultural on which nearly 400 Jewish settlements have already been established. Today the land was officially handed over by the government to the Jewish National Fund.

It is expected that by the time the Iranians arrive here, the settlement will have its own irrigation system and permanent houses.
