Israel had advised the United States to ignore a warning prior to last week’s attack on the U.S. Embassy in Kenya, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz. The Prime Minister’s Office refused comment on the report, which cited a security official as saying that Israel downplayed the reliability of the person who gave the warning. Meanwhile, Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin said the United States had brought the bombings of its embassies in Kenya and Tanzania upon itself because it had imposed “sanctions and sieges on Muslim countries.”
