Israel has the largest ratio of physicians for its population of any country in the world, with one physician for every 431 inhabitants. The ratio figures were contained in a survey released by the World Health Organization here.
Israel’s ratio compares with one for 758 in the Soviet Union, one for every 777 in the United States, one for every 3,500 in Egypt, one for every 1,290 in the Lebanon, and one for every 6,296 in Jordan.
