Israel has reached an “intolerable” situation because of Palestinian terrorism and will not be able to maintain its unilateral cease-fire much longer, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell during a phone call. Sharon urged the United States to pressure Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat to end the violence.
