John S. Knight, publisher of the Miami Herald, was presented here last night with the Eleanor Roosevelt-Israel Humanities Award by the Greater Miami Division of State of Israel Bonds.
He spoke at the Ambassador’s Ball, sponsored by the division, declaring that world conflicts could perhaps be settled “if the antagonists maintained lines of communication.” He paid tribute to the memory of Mrs. Roosevelt and recalled her deep interest in Israel. Avraham Harman, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, was an honor guest at the ball.
