Israel moved into first place today in its division at the international chess championship tournament in Skopje, Yugoslavia, by boating the Canadian team. The 3-1 win put the Israeli players ahead on earned points after four points awarded them last week by default of the Albanian team were rescinded.
The Albanians were ousted from the tournament yesterday after falling to show up for a match with the Greek team. Earlier they failed to meet the Israeli team, apparently on orders from their government in Tirana, but are now scheduled to meet the Israeli team on Friday.
