The armament industry in this country increased production during the last year by 150 percent, by comparison with the preceding year. Principal items manufactured in quantity were anti-tank weapons and rockets.

This information was made public here today in figures prepared for the governments Year Book which will be published before the Jewish New Year. In spite of its pre-occupation with furnishing arms and munitions for the Sinai campaign, the industry, according to the report, also filled many orders from abroad, especially from European countries, for various arms and munitions, especially the well-known “Uzi” submachine gun.
