Israel intends to ask settlers to lay down their arms before the Gaza Strip withdrawal. The country’s internal security minister, Gideon Ezra, said Tuesday that a senior official in the Yesha Council had suggested the move as a way to prevent an outbreak of violence by extremist settlers bent on resisting the evacuations.
