Israel lifted a security closure on the main commercial crossing into the Gaza Strip. Karni crossing reopened Thursday following a closure of more than two weeks imposed when Israeli forces received warnings of an impending Palestinian terrorist attack. The United Nations warned last week that food supplies in Gaza were dwindling due to the lack of imports through Karni, while produce slated for export to Israel was spoiling.
