Israel today lifted more restrictions imposed on Arabs living in Israel in the northern border areas. This is the second step in recent weeks toward the lifting of all restrictions imposed on Israeli Arabs in sensitive areas of the country since the War of Liberation. The recent liberalization moves have centered about the movement of Arabs in the areas under military control.
An Israeli civilian plane spraying insecticides over fields in northern Israel was today fired upon by Syrian troops stationed near Hatzbani. Israel immediately protested the incident to the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission.
