Zim Israel Navigation Co., Israel’s largest steamship company, has been admitted to the Transatlantic Passenger Conference, the American Israeli Shipping Co., Zim’s representatives in the United States and Canada, announced here today.
“With the admission of Zim Lines to the Transatlantic Passenger Conference, the long-awaited Israel-flag passenger service between the United States and Israel has passed from the blueprint stage to accomplished fact,” the announcement stated.
Inaugurating its service under the Conference from this country to Israel, the Zim Line has scheduled a first sailing of the S.S. Jerusalem from New York to Haifa on November 9th, to be followed by five additional scheduled sailings of this vessel between November 1953, and October 1954.
