Israel may face elections in January if the Knesset doesn’t approve the 2003 budget. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announced at Sunday’s Cabinet meeting that he intends to hold a Knesset vote on the budget at the end of October. If the budget does not pass, the government will fall and elections must take place within 90 days.
