The Israel Medical Association today decided to urge the government to declare a national mobilization of physicians for service in the temporary and semi-permanent immigrant work camps where winter conditions are bringing a wave of discomfort and illness.
The decision to ask the government to mobilize the doctors of Israel was accompanied by a two-fold pledge by the medical association: 1. The association will place its facilities at the service of the government for the purposes of the mobilization; 2. The members of the central committee and the national council, governing bodies of the medical association, will be the first to voluntarily respond to the mobilization order, if it is posted.
